All of the shields we sell are a purely defensive item but, regardless, we are very sensitive to the possibility of shields being misused by criminals. By buying products offered on this website, you certify that you are law-abiding, of adult age, and have no felony convictions. We do not sell to felons or minors, and it is against the law for a felon to possess Body Armor under both federal law (unless required by your employer, see, Sec. 931) and is also illegal under state law in many states. We cooperate with law enforcement to stop the use of shields and armor by criminals. If you have any criminal purpose in mind (or resell your armor to a criminal) you do NOT want to have bought Armor from us!

We reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone, in our sole discretion. By buying armor you guarantee that you are not legally prohibited from owning firearms, or body armor, and also that you are not associated with any criminal group, in any way, and have only a lawful purpose for owning body armor.

Types of Use: The Riggs Shield is to be used for defensive purposes only. The Riggs Shield is not designed as an impact weapon and has not been tested for use as an impact weapon. Striking a subject with the Riggs Shield could result in injury to the user or the subject receiving the strike.

NO Armor is 100% Bulletproof:

The Riggs Shield™ and other shields and armor offered on this website will protect you from the vast majority of pistol ballistic threats that you are ever likely to face. But there is always a trade-off between more protection and more mobility (and the constraint to stay within your budget). Please know that:

- rifle rounds

- unusually high-velocity pistol ammunition

- pistol ammo fired from a rifle barrel

- armor piercing ammunition

- other unusual ammunition or situations...CAN defeat the shields and armor.

Also, at some angles, projectiles can slide, or deflect off the edges of the shield, or ricochet. Furthermore, projectiles that are successfully stopped by the shield will always produce some level of injury, resulting in severe bruising, broken bones, and possibly serious internal injury or even death. The shield defeats most pistol and shotgun projectiles, but NO shield on earth makes you invulnerable to all threats. To state the obvious, getting shot ALWAYS carries some risk. Be aware that your head is much more susceptible to blunt trauma than your body. ANY impact of a bullet to the shield CAN CAUSE INJURY AND CAN CAUSE DEATH. You put the odds more in your favor with head protection, but, just as with ANY armor, no guarantee of invulnerability can be made.

By buying the Riggs Shield, you assume ALL risks of use or misuse, and agree not to hold the manufacturer, its distributor or authorized sales agents liable in any way. In addition, YOU are responsible to ensure that your shield is not damaged and that the nylon outer bag is in good condition. It is the responsibility of the installer and user to ensure that the shield does not interfere with any of the vehicle's safety devices and that none of the vehicle's controls are blocked by the shield. 

We Assume NO Liability other than assisting the facilitation of the Manufacturers' Warranty, as applicable. We neither assume, nor authorize any person to assume for us any liability in connection with the sale or use of the goods sold, and there are no oral agreements or warranties collateral to or affecting this agreement. We hereby give notice that any statement made by us in the sale of the goods, shall not create any warranty that the goods shall be fit for any particular purpose. Statements, images or descriptions are informational only, and not made or given as a warranty of the goods in any way. We specifically disavow any other representation, warranty, or liability related to the condition or use of the goods. We do not cover any consequential damages, and our liability is limited to facilitating the repair or replacement of defective goods from the manufacturers represented on this website. Pursuant to the provisions of the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, this product is sold "AS IS" and "WITH ALL FAULTS". The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the product is with the buyer. We are not an insurer, and bear no liability for any use, misuse, or failure to perform. Purchaser covenants and agrees that the purchaser or his heirs, agents, assigns shall NEVER bring any action in any court of law as it relates to products offered on this website including those of BRB Designs, LLC, Hardcore Defense LLC, Archangel Device LLC, and TK Armor Systems, LLC d.b.a. Spartan Armor Systems. Any dispute arising from the Purchase and Sale of product(s) sold shall be resolved by Arbitration under the Rules of the American Arbitration Association. Venue for any arbitration, or any legal dispute, shall lie only in City of Tampa, Florida and in no other Venue or Forum. The Laws of the State of Florida shall apply to all transactions concerning Police Ballistic Shield, Inc., the marketing representative for the products offered on this website. If any parts of these Terms are held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such shall not affect the validity of any other part of these Terms. Headings are for convenience only, and do not limit or affect these Terms.

Standard Terms:

Address Corrections due to Customer Error will be charged our cost from shipper of $5 to $10. Any Invoice or Shipment Unpaid 30 days from date of Delivery are Liable for 1.5% per month Interest for charges payable from date of delivery. Any shipment damage or loss in transit must be communicated to us within 2 business days from delivery to claim for damage or loss.

Riggs Shield Manufacturer's Warranty:

The manufacturer BRB Designs LLC will repair or replace any manufacture defects with the Riggs Shield™ ballistic materials for five (5) years after the purchase date. The mount and handle will be repaired or replaced for up to six (6) months after the purchase date. Any damage caused by the user are not covered by the warranty. The manufacturer recommends replacing your shield every five (5) years. Any damage caused by the user are not covered by the warranty. 

Riggs Shield Replacement Guaranty:

The Riggs Shield is a one (1) time use product and must be replaced after it has been shot. We would like to be able to use any successful deployments of our shield for advertisement purposes, so we will give you a new shield if your shield is stuck by a bullet, while you are defending yourself from an attack. We will require several photographs of the shield, information about the shooting and a case number from the agency that is investigating the shooting. We will use this information for advertising purposes.
